Tom Zwolman smiling, keynote speaker and thinker

Tom is not a motivational speaker with a story. He is a thinker who has tested his ideas in his own life and inside organisations.

He does not hand out ready-made answers. He asks the questions you would rather walk around, then puts something practical in your hands.

About Tom

Tom Zwolman

Keynote speaker, theatre maker, trainer and change adviser from Enschede, in the Netherlands. He works as TOMdenker (“Tom-thinker”).

Within eighteen months, Tom lost both his parents and his wife.

He did not push the pain away. He started to look at it differently, and his energy changed.

Out of that turning point grew a way of thinking and living: powerful and light. He now shares it on stage, in training rooms and in conversation.

What I could not change, I had to learn to carry

— Tom Zwolman

Not theory, but a guide born from real experience, choices and insight. Five steps up, at your own pace.

  1. Understand yourself better

It starts with looking at what is there: your patterns, your reactions, your story. Without judgement.

  2. Let emotions in, without disappearing into them

Feel what there is to feel. Do not push it away, and do not get stuck in it either.

  3. Find balance again after a setback

When the ground disappears under your feet, a steady route helps you stand again.

  4. Build resilience, with more lightness

Becoming stronger without becoming harder. Strength and lightness belong together.

  5. Live with trust

Not because everything is clear, but because you know you can walk.

When everything changes, how do you stay human?

A keynote by Tom is neither a lecture nor a show. It is a story your audience recognises themselves in, and an insight they leave the room with.

What Tom speaks about
Resilience from real loss. Ownership and growth. Leadership in a time of change.
What your audience experiences
A speaker who is present rather than reading from a script. Honest, with humour, without pathos.
Who it is for
Conferences, leadership days, team sessions and organisations in the middle of change.
Why Tom
A senior change adviser who has lived his story rather than researched it.

Not a lecture and not a conventional performance, but an experience. Tom tells; Mark de Geest gives his words extra force with spoken word. Head and heart come together.

What they take home

One clear idea, one practical tool and a memory they can return to.

  • He doesn't hand you a framework to memorise. He asks one good question, and the room goes quiet in the right way.

    Sample review
  • We left with something we could actually use on Monday morning. Not slides, but a different way of looking at things.

    Sample review
  • Honest about loss, light about change. People were still talking about it in the corridor days later.
